Vampire Weekend have shared one other new tune from their fifth studio album, Solely God Was Above Us. The brand new tune, “Mary Boone,” follows “Capricorn,” “Gen-X Cops,” and “Classical.” Watch the brand new monitor’s video, directed by Andrew Nisinson and starring New York rapper Despot, under.
“Mary Boone” is known as after the New York gallery proprietor who was drastically influential within the Eighties. Boone closed her two galleries in 2019 forward of a federal jail stint for offenses related to tax fraud. She has now served her 30-month sentence and is out of jail.
Ezra Koenig wrote “Mary Boone” and he co-produced the tune with Ariel Rechtshaid. The monitor features a pattern of Soul II Soul’s 1989 single “Again to Life (Nevertheless Do You Need Me).” As well as, “Mary Boone” incorporates a choir of Eliza Bagg, Jodie Landau, Luc Kleiner, and Kathryn Shuman.
Solely God Was Above Us follows 2019’s Father of the Bride. The brand new album is out April 5 through Columbia.
