Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones is dismissing his allegations towards Common Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge, Motown Information, and UMG Recordings. In a submitting obtained by AllHipHop, Jones’ lawyer, Tyrone A. Blackburn, reportedly admits there’s “no authorized foundation” for the claims towards the UMG defendants.
The submitting explains: “PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that, upon the supporting Declaration of Tyrone A. Blackburn dated Could 13, 2024, and all prior proceedings heretofore had and all papers filed herein, Plaintiff Rodney Jones will transfer this Courtroom, at a date and time to be decided by the Courtroom, for an Order, pursuant to Guidelines 15, 21 and 41 of the Federal Guidelines of Civil Process, dismissing all claims and hanging all allegations made towards Lucian Charles Grainge, Motown Information, UMG Recordings, Inc. (incorrectly named as Common Music Group) within the Second Amended Grievance with prejudice and eradicating Lucian Charles Grainge, Motown Information, UMG Recordings, Inc. (incorrectly named as Common Music Group) from the caption of this motion.”

Blackburn provides: “Based mostly on my examination of all the papers submitted in help of each motions to dismiss, which addressed the problems I had, I’ve concluded that there isn’t any authorized foundation for the claims and allegations that have been made towards the UMG Defendants.
