Here’s how to pitch to official Amazon Music playlists through Amazon Music for Artists.

Artists can submit music for the chance to feature on Amazon Music’s playlists. The Amazon Music for Artists app has a New Release Pitch Tool, which artists can use to submit their tracks for consideration by the Amazon Music playlist curators.

How to submit music to Amazon Music playlists

what to pitch to Amazon Music playlist curators

Go to New Releases in the Amazon Music for Artists app and choose your song.

Pick your lead single from your latest release, or a track you know fans will love.

Songs released on Amazon Music can be pitched to the playlist team up to 14 days after release.

One track per new release is allowed for consideration.

You can’t pick a re-release or remastered track.

The pitch

You’ve got 1,000 characters in which to make your pitch to Amazon Music. That’s about 200 words.

The point of the pitch is to show Amazon Music which of their playlists might be a good fit for your track. Tell the playlist curators what your song is like, and why people will absolutely adore it when they hear it!

You can choose up to three genres to describe your track, and provide three artists that are similar. You also need to tell Amazon Music the language of the song, if your song has lyrics.

Amazon Music want to know that your song is going to be popular, and the pitch is your opportunity to prove it to them. This is your elevator pitch – the doors have closed and it’s your only chance to get across the most important things about your song and why you believe it will be successful, before you have to get out at your floor.

What are you doing to generate a buzz around your release? What’s your plan for marketing, promoting your track, and how are you engaging with your fanbase online and in the real world?

You also get the chance to describe your song in more detail. Tell Amazon Music what the mood of your song is, and where you imagine it being played. Is it romantic or dark? Is it an upbeat party track or a chill lo-fi song perfect for playing in the background whilst writing a college essay?

And that’s it – hit Submit and you’re away!

Even if your song isn’t added to a playlist, the information you write will give your Amazon Music release a boost in other ways. Letting the Amazon Music team know the genre and intended audience of your song will give it a nudge in the right direction of the app’s recommendation algorithm, as well as alerting your existing listeners to your new release.

Head here to Amazon Music for Artists to submit your song.
