HOUSTON ARTISTS are beyond talented – it’s something in the water that just breeds success. From the awards and accolades they receive, many of them (across all genres) have a body of work to prove it. Here’s all the new music from Houston’s heavy hitters.
Normani featuring Cardi B, “Wild Side”
Houston “transplant” Normani is making an explosive and sensual return to the music scene with her latest collaboration “Wild Side” enlisting “WAP” rapper Cardi B. Normani’s latest track samples Aaliyah’s “One In A Million,” and the new visual offers a futuristic theme to match. In the music video, you’ll find the former 5th Harmony member singing and showing off impressive choreography across different themes that channel popular girl groups like Destiny’s Child, as well as the IT girls of the Y2K era: Aaliyah and Janet Jackson.
Cico P featuring Maxo Kream, “Dirty”
Cico P is shaping up to be the next big product out of Texas. Originally from Jacksonville, the rising star first gained attention with the success of the “Tampa” track, and he’s seemingly on his way to the top. His latest project “Nawfjaxx” features some heavy hitters in the rap game, including Houston’s own Maxo Kream. His new song called “Dirty” is his latest single.
Teezo Touchdown, “Mid”
Pop-punk rapper Teezo Touchdown has already managed to have an impressive year. The Beaumont rapper was most recently tapped by fellow rapper Tyler The Creator for their song “RUNITUP” and know the creative is back in the studio working on his own project – a campaign to “get mid off the streets.” Teezo shared his song “Mid” today, to accompany the many videos he’s posted to Instagram this week.
OMB Bloodbath, “Blood Sample”
Third Ward native OMB Bloodbath released her debut EP “Blood Sample” under the Atlanta-based Love Renaissance imprint. The project is five tracks in length and only enlists one feature from Louisville artist EST Gee. Prominent tracks on the project include the “Don’t Do It,” where, in the video, she is seen rapping around notable places in Houston, including in front of the George Floyd mural.
