All Chlöe Bailey needs is love. On her new single “FYS” — which stands for the NSFW title “F–ok Your Standing” — she croons of wanting a love that’s unattached to an individual’s fame or wealth.
Arriving on digital streaming platforms on Friday (March 1), “FYS” marks Chlöe’s first musical launch of 2024. The Grammy-nominated R&B star first teased her new single through X on Tuesday (Feb. 27) by sharing a snippet of the tune with the caption, “FYS. What do you suppose it means? Guess proper and I’ll drop.”
By the next day, the “In Items” singer revealed the monitor’s official paintings and title. On Wednesday (Feb. 28), Chlöe took to her social media accounts to share one other snippet of “FYS” that discovered her crooning, “F–ok your standing, f–ok your standing/ It don’t matter/ Cash, vehicles and the diamonds/ Don’t section me, I been had it/ F–ok your standing/ I simply, simply wanna love you, child/ What you wanna do?” over an atmospheric trap-inflected electro-R&B beat.
2023 marked a pivotal 12 months for Chlöe, who makes up one-half of Chloe x Halle, the Grammy-nominated duo she shaped along with her sister Halle Bailey. She launched her debut solo studio album, In Items, which reached No. 119 on the Billboard 200 and housed notable tracks similar to lead single “Pray It Away,” the semi-viral uptempo banger “Physique Do” and a controversial Chris Brown collaboration titled “How Does It Really feel.” In help of the album, Chlöe launched into a 25-date North American and European tour.
In fact, Chlöe made her formal solo debut with 2021’s “Have Mercy,” a boisterous ode to derrières that hit No. 28 on the Billboard Scorching 100. To this point, Chlöe has wracked up 4 Scorching 100 hits, together with “Deal with Me” (No. 81), “You & Me” (No. 72, with Gunna) and the 2023 Amazon Music unique “Winter Wonderland” (No. 63)
