Fatboy Slim was trying to quit music to become a firefighter.
The 57-year-old DJ revealed that he was leaving his career in the music industry to pursue something dramatically different and explained that he had a “vision” to become a firefighter.
“Praise You” hit maker (real name Norman Cook) said: You’re thin, so now you’ll actually have to do the right job. “
“I was thinking about what I wanted to do, but for some reason I had a vision of becoming a firefighter.”
The DJ, who married TV presenter Zoe Ball between 1999 and 2016, admits that the career he chose is “frivolous” than firefighters.
He also joked, “Chicks dig uniforms.”
Discussing similarities between professions at an event hosted by the Firefighters Charity, he said:
“Obviously, what I’m doing is a bit more frivolous, and it’s a great uniform, and chicks dig in uniforms. No, I’m ridiculous.
“I now think it’s too late to be a firefighter at my age, but I’ve always paid the utmost respect to the fire department. It’s very underrated in all the blue light. I think.”
Meanwhile, music stars have previously admitted that his lifestyle in his youth was “unacceptable.”
He states: “I lived Fatboy Slim for 24 hours, about 10 years, but almost died. It’s impossible to always try to live that way.”
