Share the songs that are special to you with everyone who comes to your profile and more new features announced at SXSW.
Facebook unveiled some cool new things coming to the world’s biggest social media site yesterday at the South by Southwest conference. Last October Facebook announced their journey into making music more social with music on Facebook stories and the rollout of adding songs to your profiles.
Facebook are expanding the feature so that when you add a song to your profile for all your friends to see they can tap straight through to Spotify. The track selection, which gets pinned to the top of your Facebook Profile, will be playable showing photos of the artist or their album art and now they can head straight to Spotify. A great way of sharing your tastes with people, but also an amazing tool for artists to feature their music.
In addition to expanding their new music features, Facebook have been working in countries around the world to make it possible for people to feature music in their videos. They announced partnerships with local labels in India and Thailand, including Indian labels: T-Series Music, Zee Music Company, and Yash Raj Films. Thailand’s licensed labels include: GMM Grammy and RS. The partnerships allow their music to be used in videos, messages, stories and more on Facebook.
They have promised even more to come for music on Facebook and Instagram.
