In a current interview on the Zach Sang Present, Massive Sean gave his Detroit OG Eminem his props by evaluating him to Goku from Dragon Ball Z.
When requested what he’d discovered from Em, Sean answered, “What dedication is.” He added, “Eminem is the largest rapper on this planet and he be within the studio each day, each day he will be in there. He’s devoted to it. He care about rapping like Goku care about preventing. Eminem is in that mug, in that studio, each day, dawg.”
Sean then informed an anecdote about one of many first instances they labored collectively when he was hesitant to ask the Detroit legend for his autograph. “We have been consuming Jet’s Pizza within the studio watching South Park,” he started. “On the finish of the session, I used to be nearly completed with my verse, and he was like, ‘I’mma get outta right here,’ it was getting late. And I’m an enormous Eminem fan, clearly. I nonetheless obtained Marshall Mathers LP, Slim Shady LP, Eminem Present — precise CDs, and I used to be going to deliver them to signal, and I didn’t ’trigger I believed, ‘That’s most likely a bit f—in’ lame.’”
He continued: “So, on the finish of the session, [Eminem] breaks out my CD and he’s like, ‘Yo, are you able to signal ‘em?’” He was like, ‘They’re not for me, although,” Sean remembered. “That was a lesson then. I’m like, ‘Bro, by no means be too cool to be a fan of who you a fan of, dawg.’ … I couldn’t f—ing imagine it. I used to be like, ‘Wow, what a man.’”
Eminem’s work ethic is the stuff of legend.
