1. Lil Wayne

Grammy-award winning rapper Lil Wayne needs no introduction – he’s been putting out hit albums since he was just 17 years old, and has surpassed records set by legendary artists such as Elvis Presley. Whether you’ve been listening to Wayne since Tha Carter dropped in 2004 or you’re a new fan, catching the rapper at the American Family Insurance Amphitheater will be a night to remember. And as if you needed other reasons to attend, Wayne will be joined by both Wiz Khalifa and the Wu-Tang Clan.

2. 2 Chainz
JULY 1 AT 10 P.M. | US CELLULAR CONNECTION STAGE
Most might only recognize 2 Chainz from his thunder-stealing guest spots on songs like Kanye West’s “Mercy,” but the platinum-achieving rapper has released seven albums under his own name, the most recent being released in February of this year. The rapper also has a collaborative album with fellow Summerfest headliner Lil Wayne releasing sometime this year titled “ColleGrove 2.”

3. Atmosphere
JUNE 25 AT 9:30 P.M. | GENERAC POWER STAGE
Atmosphere has been putting the Midwest on the hip-hop map for over 20 years now – all while flying just under the mainstream radar. The Minnesota duo has put out an impressive 12 studio albums, each time evolving the group’s punchy and emotive brand of hip-hop.

4. Big Boi
Big Boi is most easily recognizable as one half of the duo that makes up hip-hop group Outkast, but the rapper has also been releasing solo albums under his own name since 2010. His debut album Sir Lucious Left Foot: The Son of Chico Dusty established itself as an instant hip-hop classic, and his single “All Night” won over millions after it was featured in Apple’s animoji commercial.

5. GetMoses
JUNE 25 AT 4:45 P.M. | GENERAC POWER STAGE
GetMoses wears many titles as an artist – but now he adds “survivor” to that list. The Milwaukee DJ received a life-saving bone-marrow transplant, effectively helping him beat Leukemia. While Moses’ music technically belongs to the electronic genre, his infusion of hip-hop elements transforms the instrumentals into tracks that would feel at home on a lo-fi hip-hop playlist. If you’re looking for a hip-hop performance to just vibe out to, than be sure to catch Moses on June 25.

6. Vincent Van Great
JULY 2 AT 8:45 P.M. | MILLER LITE OASIS STAGE
Vincent Van Great has been a leader in the Milwaukee hip-hop scene for years now, and has made a name for himself as a prominent Midwest producer as well as a notable rapper opening up for big-name acts such as Tory Lanez, Public Enemy and Bone Thugs. His recent releases – two tracks featuring fellow Milwaukeean Amanda Huff – showcase the rapper’s smooth r&b side, establishing Vincent Van Great as not just a hip-hop artist, but an artist who can do it all.
